Unfurl eloquently captures the organic gestures of nature. With its elegant design, Unfurl features glass diffusers resembling delicate leaves, suspended gracefully by gently bent brass tubes; the nesting leaf-shaped reflectors cradle the stamen-like light. This piece is a testament to the beauty found in simplicity and the intricate dance of the botanical world.
The Unfurl collection represents a shift in my work. While the collection is clearly inspired by botanical forms; what is less apparent is the creative methodology was also entirely inspired by the botanical world. What I learned from my time spent with nature through the last few years was how to have my role be one of guide and conduit, where I distill forms and structures into their essences. This work retains my thoughtful precision and material integrity, while exploring a new type of authorship.
